Update: Week of April 8 through April 14, 2013

So I lost 3.3 lbs this week.  I figured I have about 96.7 lbs left to loose to get to my final goal.  I'll post a picture when I hit my 20% weight loss goal (221.2 lbs).

To help me keep up the good work, I started to work out good ways to keep my food fresh and fun.  Which leads me to today's lunch.

Rustic White Flatbread Veggie Pizza!

  • 1- Flatout Thin Crust Flatbreads Artisan Pizza in Rustic White
  • 1/4 cup of fresh mushrooms, cut into slices
  • 1/8 cup of fresh spinach
  • 1/4 small onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of Ragu pasta sauce of your choice (I picked Garlic and Onion... Trying to keep the vampires away :P)
  • 1/4 cup of shredded 2% Mexican Blend Cheese.
  • 1/2 of a Weight Watchers Chicken Burger (seasoned to your taste).

This was a last minute add to the recipe.
I prefer meat on my pizzas, so I had to think of a good one to add.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Pre-bake your pizza crust for 4-5 minutes.
Remove the pizza crust from the oven and fix your pizza as you want.

Then bake your pizza for 4 minutes.

Eat it!  (And it was DELICIOUS!!!!)

Total points for it is 9 points!  I know, for some of us that is a bit much, but it is yummy and a wonderful treat after being VERY GOOD in the previous week :).

Trying Something New

So, I'm fat...  I know, how depressing is that description.  But it is very true.  For my height of 5'9.5", I should weight between 145 lbs and 170 lbs.  I currently weigh 169.8 lbs.  Now that being said, my final goal is to reach 170 lbs.  But the question is how am I going to get there?

Well, first I started Weight Watchers in February.  Then in March, I joined an exercise group at my job # 1. So this month (April), I decided to keep doing new things.  I found this great app called Sworkit (http://sworkit.com/).

So what is Sworkit?  This is what their website claims:

What is it?

Sworkit builds randomized circuit training workouts that you can do anywhere. You just choose which part of your body you want to work on and how long you have to work out, and Sworkit takes care of the rest. By providing an actual workout and taking you through the motions, you don't have to do any other planning or have any extra equipment.

Why Sworkit?

We all have the desire to take care of ourselves and we know that we need fitness to stay healthy. But it's easy to come up with excuses: "I don't have the time". "I don't like gyms". "I don't want to buy new equipment". "I get bored too easily". "I travel for work". "I don't know where to start". Sworkit is here to make sure that none of these excuses apply and we can all get a simple workout in whenever we want.

What's with the randomization?

Workouts can be boring or they can be fun. The reason Sworkit employs randomization is to give the user a new experience every time they workout. This allows for more motivated sessions and provides excitement, and sometimes even pain. Pain is good.

Why circuit training?

Circuit training has been proven to provide highly efficient workouts at a fast pace. Sworkit allows you to choose the total amount of time you want to work out and provides you with the proper exercise timing, rest, and transitions.

Sounds great, right?  That what I'm think.  So, I decided to try this out.

I'll let you know how it all goes though :)

Week of April 1-6

So today I lost 1.6 lbs.  Yeah!  I also discovered that I gained a water-weight of 2.2 lbs during the week.

I got the new activelink for Weight Watchers.  Last week was my assessment of my activity.
Let me tell you, I was disappointed with my activity level.  For a week, I only got a total value of 4 activity points for a week.  That is not good.  Actually it is disappointing.  :(

So for the following week, I'm going to have to work hard to get 3 activity points a day... this is harder that I would think.  So far today I did 40 minutes of working out on the Wii and it equaled only 19% of my goal.  Which equals 0 activity points so far.

So now I'm going to try and figure out what I'm going to do for the week to make sure that I get 3 activity points a day.  Any suggestions?  I'm opening to any good ideas!

Ugh... One of those Weeks

We have all had them... They are those weeks where you want nothing but chocolate, food, and to curl up in your bed and wait for IT to pass (Yes, ladies, you know exactly what I'm talking about).  So, what do you do when it is that horrible time of the month and already feel grumpy, bloated and just all around horrible?

Here are some helpful ideas that I've found that have worked for me:

  1. Set aside some chocolate to eat all day.  On WW, you can have 11 Hershey Air Kisses (they are the ones that have air bubbles) for 6 points.  So, if you set aside 11 for the whole day, you can nibble on them.
  2. Find something funny.  This might be a youtube video, going and watching preschoolers talk about their day.  Anything you can think of to make you laugh.  Because laughing makes you feel better.
  3. Think of filling healthy things to eat through out the day. I know, sounds like common sense, but when you are feeling ugh, you want to eat things that will taste good as well as make you feel full.
So what are some ideas that you have?

Watch Me Slowly Loose It... The Weight, That Is

So, I'm starting this blog to help me work on loosing weight.  Not that this blog is going to be the only thing I'm doing, but it is going to be an outlet to track my success, my failures, and help me enjoy it as I go!

As an introduction, let me tell you what, why, and how I'm doing this.

In 2011, I started Weight Watchers.  I lost a LOT of weight. I went from 280 lbs to 200 pounds in about a year.

20 lbs lighter - 2011
25 lbs lighter - 2011

60 lbs lighter (down to a size 14W) - 2011
A progression (face wise) of my weight loss in 2011.  From 280lbs to 200 lbs
But then things started to happen in 2012.  I moved.  I moved my mom in with me.  I was working 2 jobs (actually, I'm still working 2 jobs).  I met a guy and we really liked to eat :)... So much change, not to mention a lot of emotional instability that left me using food as a therapeutic tool.  Unfortunately that meant weight gain.  And so I quit Weight Watchers in May 2012.

In February of this year, I had to go to the doctor.  It was at that scale I saw my weight.  301 lbs!  I was shocked!  I had never weighed that much... EVER!  But there it was.  And it wasn't good.  I didn't want it to be like that.  I knew I needed to change.

So, on February 1, 2013, I started back on Weight Watchers.  So far, in about 3 months, I have gone from 301 lbs to 271.4 lbs, which is about 29.6 lbs lost.

271.4 lbs - 2013
So that is the what and the why.  But how am I going to use this blog to help me?

  1. I'm going to post my pics as I loose weight.  Every week.
  2. I'm going to let everyone know what I've learned, what is helping me, and what didn't work.
  3. When I find great recipes I want to use again or I want to share, this is going to be where I'm going to post them!
And probably some other stuff too :P
